A Kuwait visa for Pakistanis is a sponsored permission, not a stamp you collect at the airport because a shop in Pakistan printed a copy. Work visas come from an employer in Kuwait. Visit visas, in the periods when they are open to a Pakistani passport, are applied through official Ministry of Interior channels. A forwarded “visa copy”, a voice note, or a PDF with a blurry eagle is not proof. Apna Ghar will not invent a dinar fee or a processing time. The fee is the one on the official payment screen, and the status is the one that screen will show you when you type the reference yourself.
How to apply and how to check
Start by separating the purpose. A company job, a domestic job in a private house, and a visit to family are three different files. Mixing them is how people land on the wrong sponsorship and then cannot change it. For a company job, ask for the employer’s registered name, the job title, the wage in Kuwaiti dinars, and who provides housing. For domestic work, the sponsor is usually the household, and the contract is not the same paper a construction company uses. Do not sign a company-looking offer for a house job, and do not accept a house job described as “just a visa, you can work anywhere”.
The check is simple and people skip it because the agent talks faster than they can open a website. Ask for the application or visa number. Open a Ministry of Interior service yourself. Match your passport number, the spelling of your name, the sponsor, and the dates. If the agent says the enquiry is “only for embassies” or “down for Pakistan”, that is convenient for the agent. Try the official page on another day, from your own phone, before you pay the next amount. A status website that asks for a fee to “unlock” a result the government shows for nothing is not the Ministry.
- Ask the sponsor for the application number and check it on a Ministry of Interior service yourself. Save a screenshot that shows the passport number and the date.
- Do not pay a large fee in Pakistan before that number exists. A cash security deposit, a refundable bond, or a personal JazzCash request is a warning sign, not a procedure.
- Domestic work is a separate sponsorship track from a company job. Read the contract you were given, not a friend’s contract from another house.
- Employment cases leaving Pakistan go through the Protector of Emigrants. See the Protector guide. A Gulf visa does not replace that stamp.

- Keep your passport. If a shop must hold it for a stated hour, take a written receipt with the shop’s name and the date they will return it.
- Match the name on the passport, the visa and the ticket, including spaces and father’s name. Airlines on this route do check.
- A visit visa is not permission to work. Do not let an agent sell a visit as if it were a job, and do not resign in Pakistan on a visit file.
Reading the wage, and the papers that belong in the file
The Kuwaiti dinar is a strong currency, so a salary that looks like a small number can still be a large number in rupees, and a salary that looks “normal” next to a dirham wage can be something else entirely. Always convert. Use KWD to PKR as a mid-market reference and put the basic wage, not the agent’s spoken package, into the salary converter. Ask which part is basic salary and which part is a housing, food or transport allowance. Allowances are not the same as basic pay when you later ask about end-of-service benefits. This site will not print an average Kuwait salary, because advertised averages are not your contract.
Papers depend on the product. A work file commonly needs the passport, a photograph in the size the form states, and the offer the sponsor will file. Some trades are asked for attested certificates. Attest what the sponsor or the official form asks, and keep the receipt from the attestation channel. Do not pay a market stall for a stamp you cannot trace. Medical instructions, when they exist, come from the sponsor or the portal, not from a neighbour who “just sent his brother”. Hiring notes sit in jobs in Kuwait. If the story starts with a fee, leave, and read visa agent scams.
Before you fly
Do not buy a non-refundable ticket until the visa you need is visible on an official screen and the name matches. Ask who meets you, which airport, and which document you must carry in your hand, not in the suitcase. Ask who completes the residence steps after landing, and what happens to your passport during those days. If you are going to work, the Protector endorsement should already be done, and the fee you paid in Pakistan should match a Bureau of Emigration receipt, not a blank cash note. If the sponsor’s name on the visa is not the employer you were promised, stop. “We will transfer you later” is not a transfer.
Fees, fines and salary thresholds change. If a number is not written on the official page linked below, treat a WhatsApp figure as unchecked.
