An Oman visa for Pakistanis has to be read on the Royal Oman Police site, because e-visa eligibility is not the same for every passport and it is not something a blog can freeze. A work visa is sponsored by an employer in Oman. Do not buy a ticket until the visa you need is visible on an official screen, with your name spelled as it is in the passport. Apna Ghar will not state that visa-on-arrival is open, and it will not copy a fee. The Royal Oman Police payment page shows the charge for the product it is willing to sell you that day. If your passport is not offered that product, there is nothing to pay.
Visit rules and work visas
On the Royal Oman Police site, start an application far enough to see whether a Pakistani passport is offered the visa you want. Stop before paying if it is not. Do not rely on a page that groups all Asian passports together, and do not rely on a travel agent’s laminated price list. A family visit, a tourism product and an entry for work are different purposes. Using the wrong one because it was the only button that worked is how files get refused at the end, after the money and the ticket are already gone.
For a job, the employer’s name should match the visa. Ask for the registered name, the city, the job title, the wage in Omani rials, the hours, and whether housing is a company bed, an allowance, or your problem. The Ministry of Labour is the labour authority. The employer deals with the work permission. You should still know that a file exists in your name before you resign. An agent in Pakistan is optional. If you use one, they need a Bureau of Emigration licence, and they still are not the sponsor. The sponsor is in Oman.
- Open the Royal Oman Police channel and confirm your passport and purpose are accepted before you pay an agent or a ticket desk.
- For a job, match the employer’s name to the visa. Read jobs in Oman before you treat a WhatsApp offer as a contract.
- Clear the Protector of Emigrants in Pakistan if the trip is for employment. A visit file does not need to be dressed up as a work exit, and a work exit should not skip the Bureau.
- Keep the passport name consistent on the visa and the ticket. Include the father’s name if the passport shows it.

- Ask who pays the ticket, who pays a change if the visa date moves, and what happens if the application is refused.
- Do not hand over original certificates without a written list of what was taken and when it will be returned.
- A shop that offers “Oman visa in three days, any passport” is selling a slogan. The Police site is selling the visa, if it is selling one at all.
Papers, attestation and the wage
The form is the list. People commonly prepare a passport with enough validity, a photograph in the stated size, and, for work, the offer the employer will file. Education or trade certificates are attested only when the employer or the official checklist asks. Use the attestation route that checklist names. A faster stamp from a market is not faster if the receiving officer will not accept it. Family papers, where a family product is open, usually need proof of the relationship. Do not send those scans to a free email address.
The rial’s mid-market rate is on OMR to PKR. It is a reference, not a bank quote and not a salary. Put the written basic wage into the salary converter with a rent you might actually pay if housing is not provided. This guide will not invent an average Omani wage for Pakistanis. Two offers are comparable only after rent, food and the ticket are written down. A higher package that is mostly an allowance you never see in the bank is not the higher offer.
When to stop
Stop if the agent will not let you see the Royal Oman Police page. Stop if the fee is a round cash figure with no Bureau receipt and no official payment reference. Stop if the visa purpose is a visit and the plan is to start work on Monday. Stop if the sponsor name is a person you have never heard of when you were hired by a company, or a company you have never heard of when you were hired by a household.
